1. WIDE RANGE OF PROGRAMME YOU CAN CHOOSE!
Most of universities in Malaysia offer a programme with unique specialization for example: Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Business Management with a specialism in E-Business (Available at Asia Pacific University, Malaysia) or Bachelor of Communication (Hons) with a specialism in Media Studies (Available at HELP University, Malaysia).
Not only the specializations, some of the university allow you to do major and minor concentrations. For example: you can choose Bachelor of Business (Hons) with a specialism in Human Resource management plus add minor subjects in Finance (Available at INTI International University & Colleges). Interesting, right? Yes! Many more to choose!
2. CHOOSE YOUR OWN PATHWAY!
Every individuals has his or her preference, some like more to a practical things, some want to be able to work directly without spending longer time studying, some might still have no idea about what they want to study.
In Malaysia, you can choose a pathway that suits you the most! If you still have no idea what to study you can choose Foundation year that allows you to explore your own preferences and skills. If you love practical things and want to be able to jump into working life as soon as possible, you can choose the Diploma programme. Diploma allows you to do more practical things and you will be able to jump into working life straight away after graduation.
Psst! You can get an exemption up to one year to your degree programme if you graduate from the Diploma programme.
3. INTERNATIONAL PARTNERSHIP
Some of you may want to go to a prestigious country to study such as the UK, US or Australia but the cost of living is too high or maybe the requirements to enter the programme you want is too high. Well, what if I tell you there is an easier pathway for you to achieve that dream.
Most universities in Malaysia have international partners in those mentioned countries. You can do a twinning programme, meaning you have to do 2years in Malaysia and 1 year in your preferred country or 1 year in Malaysia and 2 years in your preferred country. You can arrange it as you want! Even better, some of the universities provide foreign degree awards, meaning you finish your programme in Malaysia but you will be awarded with a certificate from your preferred university in your preferred country. Wait, whattt??? OK, let me give you an example. You want to take a Bachelor of Business in University of Hertfordshire, UK but it will be super expensive if you pursue all 3years in the UK; so, you can take it in Malaysia or you can do a twinning programme for 2 years in Malaysia and 1 year in the UK. Yep! You save money but still get the same award!
4. EVERYONE SPEAKS ENGLISH
Ask yourself, what is the scariest part of living in a foreign country? Most of you will say, communication. What if you need help but you don’t know how to communicate? What if you need something but you don’t know how to communicate your needs? Worry not! Almost all Malaysians and people here in Malaysia can communicate in English!
Therefore, if you study in Malaysia, you will need an IELTS or other English Language proficiency test. Once you get the certificate as required meaning you can speak in English, right? So don’t be shy, practice your English! You can do it!
5. EASTERN CULTURE WITH A TOUCH OF OTHER CULTURES
Everyone demands an international ambience and Malaysia got your back! Well true that Malaysia has adopted the eastern-way-of-living but everyone knows as well that Malaysia is always the center of Asia Pacific Region. You will see lots of foreigners with different cultures, different backgrounds and different ways of living but yet we are all living in harmony and respect each other.
So if you are looking for something with a touch of international but still adopting eastern culture, Malaysia is the best choice.
